A few days ago, I found myself in a ceramics studio in Copenhagen<\/strong>, hands deep in clay, completely immersed in the process. It wasn\u2019t a professional move, nor a search for a new direction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was something else entirely: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

a conscious decision to give space to one of the many creative worlds I\u2019m deeply drawn to<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I work in interior design<\/strong>, but around this discipline gravitate countless passions that continue to pull me in: photography, architecture, fine arts, illustration, craftsmanship<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes I wake up with an overwhelming desire to learn, to start a new class, to explore a new discipline or skill. The list of things I\u2019d love to dive into seems endless\u2014and that realization can feel frustrating at times.<\/p>\n\n\n

Because the truth is: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

there\u2019s simply not enough time to do it all<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But over time, I\u2019ve learned that this isn\u2019t something to resist or suppress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not dispersion. It\u2019s nourishment.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This desire to explore, to stay curious beyond the strict boundaries of my profession, is precisely what feeds my growth as a creative and a person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photography<\/strong>, for instance, has taught me the fundamentals of framing, light, composition, depth of field \u2014 the same principles I apply when working on digital renderings for my projects. Art history<\/strong> has helped me better understand how to create visual narratives within a space. Architecture<\/strong> constantly pushes me to think about proportion and context. And now, ceramics<\/strong> has reminded me of the beauty of working slowly, with intention, directly with your hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each discipline I touch, even briefly, has something to give.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new perspective. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new rhythm. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A different way of observing and processing the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That doesn\u2019t mean I want to become a professional in all of these fields. I know I won\u2019t master them all. But allowing myself these moments of exploration\u2014stepping outside the core of what I do, without pressure or expectation<\/strong>\u2014has become essential. It\u2019s how I keep my passion for interior design alive and evolving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I wonder:<\/strong> am I alone in this? Or do others feel the same pull?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you ever feel the urge to learn something outside your area of expertise? How do you deal with that tension between curiosity and focus?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for me, I\u2019ve stopped trying to quiet that inner voice. Instead, I listen to it. I try to give it space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because that curiosity is not a distraction\u2014it\u2019s my creative engine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even something as simple as attending a ceramics class can make a difference.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don\u2019t need to become experts in everything that inspires us. But carving out time to explore the worlds that orbit around our own<\/strong> is, for me, the best way to stay curious, fulfilled, and energized. And every time, I return with something new\u2014not just as a designer, but as a person.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
