{"id":1693,"date":"2025-07-10T20:31:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T20:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/giuliafrizzi.me\/?p=1693"},"modified":"2025-09-13T20:31:20","modified_gmt":"2025-09-13T20:31:20","slug":"seeing-differently-fritz-syberg-at-ordrupgaard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/giuliafrizzi.me\/?p=1693","title":{"rendered":"Seeing Differently: Fritz Syberg at Ordrupgaard"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">When I visited <strong>Ordrupgaard<\/strong>, I wasn\u2019t expecting to be moved by an artist I\u2019d never heard of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">But <strong>Fritz Syberg<\/strong> surprised me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">At first glance, his works seemed almost <strong>photographic<\/strong>\u2014scenes of everyday life captured with calm precision. But then I got closer. And that\u2019s when <strong>everything changed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Up close, you could see his <strong>pen strokes layered over watercolor<\/strong>\u2014delicate, confident, alive. They reminded me of <strong>architectural sketches<\/strong>, the kind designers use to test and dream. There was something raw and honest about them, as if the artist had let you into his <strong>process<\/strong>, not just his product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">What moved me most, though, was how <strong>perspective changed everything<\/strong>. From afar, these were quiet, controlled compositions. But near, they became something else entirely\u2014<strong>intimate, imperfect, tactile<\/strong>. Almost like entering another world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">And it made me think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">How many times do we look at something\u2014or someone\u2014from <em>one<\/em> distance only? How often do we forget that with a shift in perspective, what seemed fixed can <strong>transform<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Art, like life, asks us to <strong>look again<\/strong>.
