This week I had the chance to visit Anour, a Copenhagen-based lighting design brand that left a deep impression on me — not just for the elegance of their products, but for the values and mindset behind them.
The visit happened during my first day at All That Matters. After a warm welcome and an inspiring overview of the projects I’ll be involved in, my manager invited me to join him on a visit to one of our collaborators to discuss some new prototypes.
On the way there, he realized we were close to Anour’s headquarters — and, with the sole purpose of introducing me to a company he admires, he decided to make a stop and show me their world.
That gesture alone spoke volumes — and what I saw at Anour only reinforced that feeling.
Unlike many companies today, Anour keeps every stage of design and production in-house.
From the earliest concept sketches to the final details of each product, everything is handled under one roof.

The result? Not just technical excellence, but a rare sense of cohesion and integrity that you can feel in every object they create.
The highlight of the visit was meeting Anour’s Founder. Not in an office. Not behind a glass wall. But in the workshop, wearing a work uniform, experimenting firsthand with new technical solutions for a potential patent.
There was something profoundly moving about seeing leadership so embedded in the making process — hands-on, humble, and truly dedicated.

More Than Just Lighting
Anour isn’t just about lighting. It’s about: precision, care and an uncompromising approach to quality
In a world that often prioritizes speed and scale, it was refreshing — and deeply inspiring — to witness a reality where authenticity and craftsmanship still lead the way.
