In the Home of Finn Juhl

Where Form Follows Feeling

Tucked behind a grove of trees next to the Ordrupgaard Museum, Finn Juhl’s house feels more like a secluded sculpture than a place to live.

And yet, it is deeply, beautifully human.

Every chair, shelf, table, and corner reveals an obsession not only with form, but with how the body moves, sits, leans, glances. Juhl didn’t just design for function—he designed for emotion.

His iconic chairs are there, of course. But the true experience lies in the details: the soft rhythm of the wood panels, the way light slices across the room in the late afternoon, the subtle tension between art and furniture. It’s a home that teaches you to pay attention.

And maybe that’s what struck me most—this constant dialogue between movement and stillness, presence and intention.

Finn Juhl didn’t just build a home. He choreographed a way of being.
