Teshuvah

Sanlorenzo yacht / thesis project

The design purpose is the reworking of the SD 112 yacht by Sanlorenzo, a 34-meter motor yacht with a semi-displacement fiberglass hull.

The project requires a holistic approach: from redefining the internal spaces to designing the layouts of the decks and cockpits, as well as paying attention to the details in the furnishings and accessories.

This work process must reflect both the tradition and excellence of the Sanlorenzo shipyard and the personal needs and lifestyle of the owner.

Teshuvah means “return” in Hebrew, but it carries a deeper meaning. It represents the rediscovery and understanding of one’s past and present through both individual and collective redemption.

The yacht will provide the Weiss family with a place to return to in a historically significant location—a space for relaxation and self-discovery. It will reflect the traditions and lifestyle of Shlom Weiss, blending Italian design with his Jewish-Israeli heritage, while also paying special attention to the family’s artistic legacy.

DISCOVER THE DIFFERENT DECKS

The project also required an in-depth CMF study, involving a meticulous selection of materials, a thorough analysis of finishes, and a keen attention to detail—essential when designing a yacht rather than a residential space.
